About Little Land Preschool and Early Learning Centre
Where Children Belong, Be and Become!
At Little Land, we provide a nurturing, innovative, and stimulating early learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our program supports each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning through a balance of intentional teaching and spontaneous play. We view ourselves as an extension of home, fostering strong partnerships with families to support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. Through meaningful experiences, respectful relationships, and inclusive practices, we empower children to grow into confident, capable learners with a strong sense of self, community, and belonging.

Our Philosophy
At Little Land Preschool & Early Learning Centre, we believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where their happiness, well-being, and development are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to supporting each child’s social, emotional, physical, and educational growth through a wide range of meaningful and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

We value and respect families as children’s first teachers and recognise the importance of working in partnership to support each child’s individual needs. We embrace family diversity and culture, ensuring that children and families feel welcomed, respected, and secure within our service.

Our educators are qualified, passionate professionals who engage in ongoing reflection and professional development to ensure best practice. Through open communication and respectful relationships, educators provide families with regular feedback on children’s learning and development, fostering trust and collaboration.

We believe that strong connections with our local community enrich children’s learning and support a sense of belonging. By building two-way relationships with the community, we help children develop an understanding of their place in the world.
Play-based learning is central to our philosophy. We believe children learn best through play and active participation, where they are encouraged to explore, question, and engage with their environment. Guided by the principles, practices, and learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), our curriculum is responsive and child-centred, supporting children to build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

We recognise and uphold children’s right to play and to be active participants in decisions that affect them, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Through reflective practice and thoughtful planning, we strive to create a responsive curriculum that enables every child to reach their full potential, recognising that early learning plays a vital role in shaping future life outcomes.
Our Core Values
Where Children Belong, Be and Become!

Belonging & Care
We provide a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, loved, and accepted. By building strong, trusting relationships, we support children’s emotional well-being and sense of belonging.

Curiosity & Learning
We believe learning begins with curiosity. Through play-based and intentional experiences, children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Respect & Inclusion

We celebrate diversity and value every child as an individual. Through kindness, empathy, and respect, we teach children to embrace differences and build positive relationships with others.
Partnership
with Families

We work closely with families, recognising parents as children’s first teachers. Open communication and collaboration ensure each child is supported consistently between home and our service.

Our Curriculum
Our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children from birth to five years and through their transition to school. We offer a play-based, child-centred curriculum that responds to each child’s interests, strengths, and abilities, while valuing family and community partnerships. Through intentional teaching, meaningful play, and everyday interactions, children are encouraged to build independence, curiosity, and confidence in a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
Our Approach
At Little Land, we believe every child’s early years are a time to explore, grow, and build a strong sense of identity. Our program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which recognises that children’s learning and development are shaped by meaningful connections with family, community, culture, and place.
BELONGING
Children develop a sense of security, connection, and identity through relationships with family, friends, and their wider community. Feeling like they belong helps children build confidence, empathy, and respect for others.
BEING
Childhood is about living in the moment, exploring the world, and making sense of everyday experiences. We encourage children to discover their interests, express themselves, and enjoy learning through play and interaction.
BECOMING
As children grow, they develop knowledge, skills, and confidence that allow them to participate fully in life and learning. At Little Land, we support each child to reach their full potential, laying the foundations for lifelong learning and active participation in society.
